Terms of service

Last updated September 7, 2026 Effective September 7, 2026

These terms apply when you use the MealMaxx app. MealMaxx is operated by App Maxx (“we”, “us”). By creating an account or using the app, you agree to them.

1. Who can use MealMaxx

You must be at least 13 years old to use MealMaxx. The app is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly allow them to create accounts.

MealMaxx runs on iPhone with iOS 26 or later. There is no iPad, Android, or web version, and we don't promise one.

2. Your account

An account is required. You sign in with Apple or Google — we never see or store your password.

Access to the app requires an active MealMaxx Unlimited subscription or free trial. See subscriptions and billing.

You're responsible for what happens under your account, and for the accuracy of the information you enter. If the preferences or the budget you enter are wrong, the results will be wrong in the same way.

You can delete your account at any time in the app under Profile → Delete account. Deletion is permanent.

3. What MealMaxx does — and what it doesn't promise

MealMaxx helps you plan meals around the food you want to eat and your grocery budget, and helps you shop, cook, and keep track of what you already have. The limits below are part of the service as designed, and you accept them by using it.

Prices are estimates, not quotes. They get better the more you use the app, but we have no live feed from any retailer and we can't guarantee that a price shown in the app matches what you're charged. We aren't affiliated with any grocery store — store names appear only because you chose them.

Automated features aren't perfect. Anything the app reads or keeps track of for you works from what you've given it, so check it before you rely on it.

Content and features change. Meals and features are added, changed and removed over time, and we don't promise that any particular one will be available.

We aim to keep the service available and working, but we don't guarantee uninterrupted access.

4. Not medical or nutritional advice

MealMaxx is a planning and tracking tool. It is not a medical device, and nothing in the app is medical, clinical, or professional nutritional advice. It does not diagnose, treat, cure, or prevent any condition, and it does not promise any health, weight, or financial outcome.

Targets are calculated from figures you provide using general formulas. They are a starting point, not a prescription.

Talk to a qualified professional before making significant changes to your diet, particularly if you are pregnant or nursing, are managing a medical condition, take medication, or have a history of disordered eating.

You are responsible for checking ingredients against your own allergies and restrictions. Allergen and diet filters are applied to the app's meal data on a best-effort basis, and product formulations change — always read the label on the food you actually buy.

5. Acceptable use

Please don't:

6. Your content

The information you put into MealMaxx — your profile, plan, logs, pantry, and the photos you scan — stays yours.

You grant us only the permission needed to operate the service for you: to store, process, sync, and display that content back to you, including sending photos you scan for automated recognition, and to measure how the app is used so we can improve it. We do not use your content for advertising, and we do not sell it. How all of this is handled, including what the usage measurement does and doesn't record, is set out in our privacy policy.

7. Our content and trademarks

The app, its design, its meal and pricing data, and the MealMaxx name and logo belong to App Maxx and are protected by intellectual property law. You get a personal, non-transferable, revocable licence to use the app for your own household — not to copy, redistribute, or build a competing product from it.

Grocery store names and logos that appear in the app or on this site are the trademarks of their respective owners, used only to identify stores you have chosen. Their use implies no affiliation or endorsement.

8. Subscriptions and billing

What MealMaxx Unlimited includes

MealMaxx Unlimited unlocks the full app: meal planning, priced shopping lists, receipt scanning, pantry and leftovers tracking, guided cooking, and savings tracking. Features may be added or changed over time as the app develops.

Plans and free trial

MealMaxx Unlimited is offered as an auto-renewing subscription on two plans:

Current pricing is always shown in the app before you confirm, and on the App Store listing.

New subscribers are offered a 7-day free trial. You will not be charged during the trial. Unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the trial ends, it converts automatically into a paid subscription on the plan you selected, at the price shown when you signed up.

If you have already used a free trial for MealMaxx, you are not eligible for another. If you subscribe before a trial period ends, any unused portion of that trial is forfeited.

Payment, renewal and cancellation

Subscriptions are sold and processed by Apple, not by App Maxx. We never receive or store your payment card details.

Managing or cancelling a subscription is done through your Apple Account. We cannot cancel, pause, or modify your subscription on your behalf.

Price changes

If we change the price of a plan, Apple will notify you and, where required, ask you to agree before the new price takes effect. If you do not agree, your subscription will not renew at the new price.

Refunds

Purchases are handled by Apple, so refund requests are made to Apple, not to us. You can request one at reportaproblem.apple.com. Refunds are granted at Apple's discretion under the App Store Terms of Sale. Because we do not process the payment, we cannot issue refunds directly, though you are welcome to contact us at mealmaxxsupport@gmail.com and we will help where we can.

Family Sharing

MealMaxx Unlimited is not enabled for Family Sharing. A subscription applies to the Apple Account that purchased it.

If your subscription ends

When a subscription lapses or is cancelled, access to MealMaxx Unlimited features ends and the app returns to its locked state. Your data is not deleted — your profile, plan, pantry, and history remain associated with your account and become available again if you resubscribe. You can delete your account and its data at any time from Profile → Delete account, as described in our privacy policy.

Changes to the subscription

We may change what MealMaxx Unlimited includes as the app develops. If we make a change that materially reduces what you receive during a period you have already paid for, we will tell you and, where required, offer you a way to cancel.

9. App Store terms

MealMaxx is distributed through the Apple App Store, and Apple's own terms apply to your download and use of the app alongside these terms. Apple is not responsible for the app or its content, and has no obligation to provide support for it. Apple is a third-party beneficiary of these terms and may enforce them against you.

10. Ending your use

You can stop using MealMaxx and delete your account at any time in the app.

We may suspend or end access to an account that breaks these terms, or where we're required to by law. If we do that other than for a serious or repeated breach, we'll make a reasonable effort to tell you first.

Sections that by their nature should survive — your content licence to us, our intellectual property, disclaimers, limitation of liability, and governing law — continue to apply after your account ends.

11. Disclaimers

MealMaxx is provided “as is” and “as available”. To the fullest extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted or error-free, that price estimates will match what you are charged, that nutrition figures are exact, or that automated recognition of your photos will be correct.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties, so parts of this section may not apply to you. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have under mandatory consumer protection law.

12. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent the law allows, App Maxx will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or for lost profits, lost savings, or lost data, arising from your use of MealMaxx.

Our total liability for any claim relating to the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim, or US $50.

This does not limit liability that cannot be limited by law, including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

13. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the app changes. When we do, we'll update the date at the top and, for material changes, give notice in the app. Continuing to use MealMaxx after a change means you accept the updated terms.

14. Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Florida, USA, without regard to its conflict of law rules, and the courts of that state will have jurisdiction over disputes — except where the law of your country of residence gives you the right to bring a claim locally.
